Each package is a consolidated set of seismic and well data to facilitate new ventures and exploration assessments of frontier basins in South Australia. The 2019 South Australia Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Act 2000 Compliance Report prepared by the Department for Energy and Mining, Energy Resources Division, has been tabled in the South Australian Parliament and is available on the Department’s web site on the Compliance and Monitoring page.

The report details the compliance and regulatory surveillance activities undertaken during 2019, for regulated activities carried out under the Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Act 2000 (PGE Act) and associated Regulations.

Key areas covered in the report include:

  • An overview of DEM’s approval and compliance monitoring activities undertaken during 2019 including field surveillance and Process Safety inspections;
  • A summary of all serious incidents reported in 2019 under the PGE Act;
  • Industry compliance statistics, including the frequency and number of various types of reportable incidents, and analysis of root causes of these incidents.
